Fieldwork Research Facility AV & Dante Audio Integration
Fieldwork is a market research firm that supports qualitative research, including focus groups and in-depth interviews. At its Irvine, California office, aging audio and video infrastructure had become increasingly complex to operate and maintain.
AV Planners worked with Fieldwork to upgrade the facility using a combination of new and existing equipment, replacing legacy composite video and analog audio infrastructure with higher-definition video distribution and a Dante audio-over-IP system.
HD Video Distribution & Research Room Monitoring
The existing composite video system relied on multiple distribution amplifiers and switchers housed across several cabinets. AV Planners redesigned the video system around HD/SDI routing, PTZ cameras and SmartView Duo monitors for quality-control monitoring at the reception desk. The upgraded system provided high-definition video and supported viewing across multiple rooms and locations within the facility.
Dante Audio-over-IP & Existing System Integration
AV Planners upgraded the audio infrastructure using a Dante audio-over-IP network with beamforming ceiling microphone arrays and network-connected audio amplifiers. Existing volume controllers and speakers in the viewing rooms were retained where practical, helping Fieldwork make use of existing infrastructure while improving the overall system.
The Result
The completed upgrade provided Fieldwork with clearer audio and video, improved system control and a more flexible AV environment for its research operations while reducing dependence on the older composite-video and analog-audio infrastructure.
