Voice Lift Technology

With hybrid meeting spaces being the new norm, there are many obstacles to making sure remote meeting participants can seamlessly participate and engage with in-person attendees. Social distancing and remote participants means even more space between speakers and listeners than we are accustomed to. This distance, in addition to factors like air conditioning, texting, room acoustics and other background noises, can make it hard for people to hear.

Voice lift technology works to equally distribute sound over any meeting space, whether it’s a classroom, traditional conference room or lecture hall. By amplifying each speaker’s voice by only three to six decibels, meeting participants can clearly hear each other regardless of where they are without being overwhelmed by a drastic change in volume. The sound difference is barely noticeable and not distracting in any way. This technology uses a combination of ceiling microphones, digital signal processors, amplifiers and loudspeakers to create an easy-to-use and hands-free option for those looking to improve meeting spaces.

Ceiling microphones are perfect for rooms where social distancing is applied or there are virtual participants. It also creates a flexible solution that can be aesthetically-pleasing. There’s no need to figure out how to work clip-on or handheld microphones, simply turn on the audio system and it will do the work for you. This also gives you the flexibility to move about the room while talking if needed, as the different microphones will pick up your voice wherever you are. Ceiling microphones identify the voices of remote participants and amplify them across the room, as well. Voice lift technology works to only pick up relevant voices and leave out any background noise, so you’ll only hear the speaker.

Whether you have one main speaker presenting or more of a multi-directional conversation space, voice lift technology works to make interaction, both in-person and hybrid, easier. The system is easily controllable and customizable. Depending on the set up and arrangement of people in the room, you can divide your space into sections to best pick up and transfer sound to the rest of the room. Voice lift technology works best in large rooms, usually starting at 40-by-40-foot at a minimum. The higher the ceilings, the more speakers and power you may need for sound to travel efficiently, but this technology can be personalized to be the most efficient for your space.

Unfortunately, there’s not a one-size-fits-all integration design for voice lift technology, as each corporate office is unique in its range of rooms and building construction. Each space will require its own design. A site survey can help determine the technology needed to create high-quality hybrid meeting and video conferencing experiences for employees.

Voice lift technology is the perfect addition to meeting spaces, improving audio quality for both in-person and remote participants.
