Technology Integration – A Partner In Construction

At AV Planners, our extensive experience working directly with general contractors and building owners enables us to collaborate seamlessly on technology integration in new construction or retrofit integration projects. As a construction partner, we can design, install and manage an integrated system design while coordinating with traditional construction aspects and stakeholders, like architects, general contractors and electricians. We can coordinate with general contractors, IT managers and company principals to design and build an entire AV system from the ground up. We can retrofit a system to an existing space or relocate it from an old location to a new facility. We are unique to other integrators because of our hands-on approach to working with trades throughout the design and construction process.

By introducing an integrator in the early construction phase, you’re allowing us (the technology integrator) to discuss the latest technology to create a customized, cost-effective solution. It enables us to provide value adds during the entire process, including schematic design, scope and bill of materials, design development, construction documents, bid negotiation, and construction administration. Throughout the process, we provide industry-leading support, including installation, training and implementation, and technical support.

Technology integration in early-phase construction is critical to the overall success of a project, especially if it’s a large project, because it prevents change-orders in design and construction, which will reduce the overall downtime and costs. Behind-the-scenes technology (e.g., network cabling, conduit and hardwired solutions) can be integrated before the walls are built out to save on time and resources. Most importantly, the completed solution will feature seamless integration of audio, video and networking to create a space that fuels productivity for office tenants and improves developers’ and real estate investors' ROI.

Integrators need a seat at the design table and technology integration is an integral part of the design-build process. Our goal is to collaborate efficiently with architects, general contractors, electricians, and other trades to create a seamless solution for a high-quality end-user experience. If you're a developer, architect or construction engineer, consider working with a technology integrator in the early stages of your next project.
