11 Vintage Remotes that make you realize you’re taking your @CrestronHQ Touch Screen for granted

It's #ThrowbackThursday ... today let's remember how lucky we have it to have touch screen remote controls:

It started with the Flash-Matic, that looked more like a laser gun from a B Sci-Fi flick. Who knows what the one button did, turn on the tube? change the channel? shoot some ducks while on the hunt? I don't know but it does look kind fun to operate!

Then we got two buttons, we can turn it on and off without getting out of our seat! Although the one way channel seems like a drag if you want to go back to the channel you were just on, but I guess there were only a handful of channels anyway.

Then we got this pretty cool space commander... color tv! and we can change the HUE!..Amazing!

Then we got a number keypad...

But then of course, the 80s became more about style and this minimalistic silver thing

could be the grandfather of a current day Apple remote.

Then they got a little smaller, with a few extra features added

to control that fresh VCR device...

Oh Sony, now you're just showing off...

Sharp, I'm sure we still don't know what half of these buttons do....

Eventually we didn't know what other buttons to add but, we did get annoyed at smacking the remote when the batteries weren't working... so this clever wind up, battery free remote would be sure to catch on... right?

This was as simple (and HUGE) as it got... great for grandmas and babies alike.

Because everyone else had too many remotes to handle without a cradle ...

Sony tried to fix that but seriously, who knew how to program one of these things???

but you do have to admit, even way back when, remote controls were an easy sell...

Now it's 2016 and believe us when we say controlling everything from your displays to your lights, there's never been anything like the tech we have to day like say the Crestron PYNG App, read more about it [HERE]
