Short Throw Projectors vs. LCD Flat Panel Displays

This is the question normally our clients don’t ask us, so I figured I would post the question.

It seems common that if you want an image on a wall you would simply install an LCD screen and voila your done.

That was the first thing in your mind but is it the best solution for your business?

Well, there are many factors to consider. First, how big do you want the image to be and at what cost? The largest image is 108” (diagonal) on an LCD screen from Sharp that well set you back $112,000! If you were to consider a short throw projector, I would recommend the Hitachi CP-DW10N which can display a 110” diagonal image at four feet from the wall at a cost of $1,000.00 plus installation. What’s unique about Hitachi CP-DW10N is its small foot print and its capability to project large, bright images in limited space, and that makes it a perfect solution for small and medium meeting rooms. In additions, it allows full image with no shadowing effect which enhances viewing aesthetically.

The applications of Hitachi CP-DW10N Short Throw projector are digital signage, Interactive White board or just any presentation. However, the constraints with any projection display device would be if you have a considerable amount of ambient light.  In this case, I would recommend purchasing a commercial grade LCD screen. If you can compensate screen size with better cost, you may want to hold back on the 108” screen by sharp and go with a 65” Panasonic TH-65PF12UK LCD screen for about $5,000.00.
