Background:
Kitchen Academy, located in Hollywood, CA., is a professional culinary school with a state-of-the-art facility.
Challenge:
To create an environment in which each kitchen contains AV capabilities. The AV system had to be deigned to withstand the harsh environment of a working kitchen. The system was created to be easily used by both the instructors and the students.
Solution:
Each work station has a 27" LCD screen so students may remain in their stations while instructors demonstrate how to prepare each dish. An overhead video camera was then mounted at each instructor's station. Instructors can also list a recipe on the screen while students follow along.
- Displays - two plasma screens for each station, consisting of 16 total
- Video Camera - six video cameras were mounted above instructor stations, allowing students to oversee each instructor’s technique. The system was also connected to the instructors’ computers for recipes and instruction.
- Display - one 50" plasma screen in the school’s common area for classroom instruction and information for potential new students.
