11/28/2011 IT and Convergence: Why you Should Stay Ahead of the AV Curve

One of the most important aspects of a company's audio visual equipment is keeping up to date on IT and convergence.  An IT team is what keeps a company's electronics up and running, and their knowledge and understanding is what helps AV equipment on point.  As far as convergence, audio visual technology is now changing at a faster pace than ever and staying ahead of the curve is an important move for many businesses – especially those who rely on technology for their everyday operations.  From telepresence to videoconferencing to digital signage, AV equipment is constantly changing and evolving.

Many companies are managing to stay up to date through the use of research and following trends.  Internet searches and blogs provide upcoming and new information, and by reading these posts they're a leg up on their competitors.  However, many can't afford this time spent on research.  Another way of staying in the know of AV convergence and IT needs can be accomplished through attending panels and conferences.  These conferences hold speaking events, meet and greets, and even the sale of popular products.  (Check back in for an upcoming schedule list.)

What Staying Current Means for You

When it comes to your company, keeping your AV equipment up to date can help make you audio visual system run much easier.  There are new products being released every day that can help streamline operations, and create and easier and quicker processes for everyday business.  By being aware of these products, a company has a better chance of being able to take advantage of these new advancements.  And as far as the IT staff, allowing them to have the latest information, tools, and techniques will only help ensure that your current AV system will stay working properly and efficiently.  Companies can save money in the long run by having a Maintence Agreement that includes an AV and IT system using a Creston Control System. It’s important that your internal IT department and you AV specialist can communicate and troubleshoot any issues via an IP address. This allows for remote access and a quicker response time. This also allows for firm ware updates for not only your software but your audio visual hardware.
